A new app, run by people who have done this for a long time.

Piper is new. The team behind it isn’t. We’ve spent over a decade paying people for their opinions: writing the surveys, filling the panels, and reading every answer that came back. Piper is what we built once we knew what was worth fixing.

Why we built Piper

For years our work has been on the other side of the survey: helping companies find out what people actually think before they bet a launch on it. Doing that means buying access to panels. A lot of panels.

Which means we’ve spent years watching those panels from the answering chair. Ten minutes of screener questions to find out you don’t qualify. No idea what a survey pays until you’re too far in to walk away. Careful answers nobody reads. Accounts shut off with no explanation and nobody to ask.

So we decided to build Piper – starting with the things we’ve heard complaints about for years.

What we actually know how to do

No origin myth — just the part that’s useful to you:

  • Decades running consumer research for companies that pay for it.
  • Millions of written responses collected, read, and quality-checked.
  • Years on the unglamorous half: fraud, duplicate accounts, respondent quality, and getting people paid.

That experience is why this panel is matched and modest rather than big and noisy. We already know what the big-and-noisy version costs the people inside it.

What we believe

Your perspective and time are worth paying for. You’ll see the pay and estimated time on each survey before you start it, and we do our best to send surveys you already qualify for instead of making you audition for them.

A real answer deserves a real reader. Survey questions come from people building something. Maybe a founder launching their first product. Or the design team behind a brand you’ve walked past in the aisle. Or a studio behind a game you’ve played on your phone. They read your answers themselves and take them seriously – which is why it’s worth writing a real sentence.

Quality control has to cut both ways. We screen hard for bots, copy-paste junk, and answers that came out of a chatbot – that’s what keeps the pay worth it for the people doing the work. Nobody wants to write a thoughtful paragraph and get paid the same as someone who pasted in whatever AI handed them. And if a quality check accidentally flags a real, honest answer, we try to be fair about it. There’s someone behind every account, and we act like it.

The deal is the survey, and it stops there. You’re getting paid for your answers, so yes – the answers you give go to the company that asked for them. That’s the trade. What doesn’t happen is the rest of it: we don’t sell your profile to data brokers, and your answers don’t get passed around outside the study you gave them to. Close your account whenever you like and your data goes with it.

Things we won’t promise

Being straight about the limits is the fastest way to tell us apart from the sites that aren’t.

  • You won’t get rich here. It’s real money for real opinions, not a paycheck. Anyone telling you different is selling something.
  • We can’t tell you what happens to your answers. Once a survey closes, what the company does with it is theirs. We won’t invent an ending for it.
  • We won’t send you filler. Some weeks there’s nothing that fits you. We’d rather your inbox stay quiet than fill it for no reason.

Your point of view is worth something.

Build your profile in a few minutes – then stay tuned for your first survey.
